On My Block is about four upcoming high school students Monse, Ruby, Jamal, and Cesar. They live in a rough area in inner Los Angeles neighborhood. Their friendship is tested throughout the show with their triumph, pain and newness they experience along the way. Life in a predominantly Hispanics and black neighborhood, which will show how each one’s life is in this type of environment and the way they have grownup.

Cesar is a young man who grew up in a household full of gang members starting from his grandfather. He is the friend that makes sure the rest are always safe even though they are all worried for him. They all knew Cesar was going to get jumped into the gang eventually and want to help him. They know that’s not the life he wants to have.

Monse is the only girl in the group. She was raised by her father who has to travel a lot. Majority of the time she is home alone. Monse and Cesar have a secret relationship that Ruby and Jamal don’t know about. She is also the smartest most creative writer out of all of them.

Jamal is a young man who never lies except to his father. His father believes he is playing varsity football even though he isn’t at all. He is just saying he is because his father was the star football player and wants his son to be one as well.

Ruby is a young man who is really funny and most don’t take seriously. He is the little guy that thinks he can take everything that comes his way. His life at home is very interesting compared to the rest of them.

This is a coming-of-age comedy series. At the moment there is only one season, but on March 29thseason two will be released on Netflix.This is a show I recommend to anyone who wants a good laugh.
